WWT decides whether to ‘make or buy’ as regards the manufacture and assembly of the various components and building blocks of the product.
As for purchases, the focus is on outsourcing routine work.
This is mostly done in the so-called ‘low-wage countries’.
Suppliers are carefully selected. The main criterion in such cases is the required price/quality ratio, but other factors may also play a role, including the supplier’s delivery terms, economic stability / solvency and payment conditions.
